Enermax 400 Watt Power Supply
This unique power supply
from Enermax features a 80mm cooling fan on the front and a 60mm fan
on the back. The fans can be slowed easily since their cables are
plugged into on-board connectors inside the power supply similar to
a motherboard fan connector. To reduce noise,
Fan Speed Cables can be
connected to the fan cables.
Note:
Features higher +3.3v and +5v output for high demand systems.
The modified version has the internal
fan speeds reduced for less noise. Both fans are slowed internally by
using a simple fan extension cable with inline resistor. The
larger 80mm front fan uses a 68ohm cable, while the smaller rear
fan uses a 100ohm cable This combination has been fine
tuned for optimum airflow with the least amount of noise.
Due to the design of the door mounted DVD drive, a
longer IDE power cable is needed. This cable is 14" long. For advanced users, another option is to extend the
existing cable by splicing in a longer cable.

IDE Data Cable for DVD drive
Due to the design of the door mounted DVD drive, careful
routing of the IDE data cable is required. The case includes cable
clamps for routing a round IDE cable. The cable you use must have
the bulky plastic boots removed for clearance.
Round IDE cable, black
24" long single device
Ultra DMA (ATA 133/100)
40 twisted pairs, 30 AWG
Foil shield, PVC foam skin insulator
Bootless 40-pin connectors

Fan Speed Control Cable
The fans used in this case are the slowest speed
available in a 70mm size. However, I prefer to run them even slower
for reduced noise. Stock fan speed is 3300 RPM, this speed is fine for
remote installations where noise is not a concern or where maximum
cooling is desired. Advanced users can easily make/modify their own
cables. Cable is just a standard fan extension cable with a resistor
installed inline to reduce the current to the fan.
Note: There are many variables to optimum fan speed. You may want to run the fans faster with a hot video card.
A cool running system can run the fans at slower speeds. For quiet cooling of your Radeon, see the
Mass-Air
Heatsink System.
Recommended fan speeds:
00 ohm = 3300 RPM (>3 GHz)
33 ohm = 2500 RPM (2.8 - 3 GHz)
47 ohm = 2300 RPM (2.5 - 2.8 GHz)
68 ohm = 2000 RPM (2.0 - 2.5 GHz)
82 ohm = 1600 RPM (1.8 - 2.0 GHz)
100 ohm = 1300 RPM (<1.8 GHz)
For lower noise, slower speeds can be used. Get a
few sizes to see what works best in your system.
Automatic Fan Speed Controller
This Fan
Speed Controller is compact in size for easy mounting in any location. Linear response curve for smooth
ramp up. Load stabilized output for consistent speed. 12 volt
start-up circuit spins fan at full speed during start up to ensure reliable
operation. One controller can be used with two case fans using a
fan splitter cable. Most motherboards can handle the current of two small
fans per connector. Typical speed range is around 1700---2500
RPM. If you want to constantly run your fan at a precise RPM- get
the fan
speed cable instead.
$15.00
Fan Splitter Cable
Use this cable to connect two
case fans to a single three pin header. Allows two fans to be used
with one fan speed controller. 3-pin connectors for fans with tach signal. 12" length for extended reach.
