Install the spacer ring onto PowerMate base as shown. Thickness varies depending on the model of PowerMate. Most PowerMate units sold in the last three years use a thicker spacer than the one shown above, this is a older unit. Insert the PowerMate base into the backside of face plate. The cable must fit into the machined recess as shown. Now secure the base to the faceplate using the rectangle plate and four screws provided (not shown in picture).

From the front side, push the knob back onto the shaft.

Note: If your knob separated from the plastic insert instead of the metal shaft you can glue the insert back on. A semi-flexible adhesive like silicone sealer works well, but "crazy glue" will also work if you clean off the old adhesive. Spin the knob before the adhesive dries to adjust the knob so that it runs true and does not wobble.

PowerMate knob is now installed in faceplate. You can operate the PowerMate without any drivers (Windows treats it as a pointing device). For the most functionality, install the PowerMate drivers and program included with the unit. There are also plug-ins for Girder.
